Anton, Arthur F. and Carol M. Scholarship
The Arthur F. and Carol M. Anton Scholarship was established by Mr. and Mrs. Art and Carol Anton in 2011 for the purpose of attracting highly qualified students from diverse backgrounds and experiences to The University of ºÚÁÏÊÓÆµ to study engineering and graduate from the College of Engineering and Polymer Science. The scholarship was revised in 2013, 2015, and 2025.
A student awarded The Arthur F. and Carol M. Anton Scholarship will be known as an Anton Scholar and will be provided with up to $6,000 during the first academic year at The University of ºÚÁÏÊÓÆµ. At least five new scholarships will be awarded annually to first-time freshman students. The scholarship may be renewed for an additional six semesters, if a student remains in good academic standing and is enrolled in an engineering degree program.
- Eligible candidates must be:
U.S. citizens and - Incoming full-time undergraduate students pursuing a degree in engineering in The College of Engineering and Polymer Science.
In addition, recipients should be assessed by the diversity of their background and their experiences. The scholarship committee should consider financial need/economic background, first-generation college attendance, location of high school attended, evidence of leadership ability, and a history of overcoming adversity.
Renewal Criteria
The scholarship is renewable for up to an additional six semesters, provided the recipient:
- Remains a full-time student,
- Maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher,
- Demonstrates ongoing financial need, and
- Actively engages in or volunteers for one or more of the following organizations within the College of Engineering and Polymer Science: Increasing Diversity in Engineering Academic (IDEAs) Program, National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Learning Community, or other student success program.
Eligible recipients will be identified ºÚÁÏÊÓÆµ Scholarship Committee in the Office of Student Financial Aid with assistance as needed from the College of Engineering and Polymer Science. Final selection will be made ºÚÁÏÊÓÆµ Scholarship Committee.
